That time of year~Alright, guys. #Photo-Bomb is finally having it's very first contest! I've been saving up my points for this special occasion and gotten some insight from you all about what the contest should be about. And the winning theme for this contest is....

"Favorite Part of the Holidays"

That's right. Since it's the lovely season of winter, and since Christmas, New Year's Day, and other holidays like Hanukkah and Kwanzaa are right around the corner, people have given me the lovely idea of doing a holiday themed contest. Here are the rules for submitting:

Rules, Guidelines, and Information

Contest begins on December 14, 2012 and ends on January 12, 2013. Winners will be announced on January 16, 2013. There will be one winner, and two runner-ups. Winning photos will be judged by Photo-Bomb's moderators.

Only two submissions per person, and can ONLY BE PHOTOGRAPHY OR PHOTOMANIPULATIONS. This means no phot

PROMPT CONTEST: JANUARYEach month #Shelf-of-Friends will hold a selection of prompts for group members to choose from. We hope through this that we can inspire others to write and create beautiful works.
The contest will end February 1st at midnight.

O v e r v i e w
To invoke inspiration, we have selected a format that group members must write in; we do this in hopes of motivating members to try and expand their abilities in other forms of writing. As for the prompt, there are three things members must choose from to use in the submitted piece and to help invoke inspiration:
a first line to be used in the beginning of the work;
a last line to be used at the end of the work;
a word to help invoke uniqueness for the piece.
a theme*only for the month of January, and other selected months.
*We suggest that you use only one, but if you feel the need to use all, that is also acceptable.

There's always something enchanting about the frost on windshields, that fluffy white snow nipping at your mittens and your nose all red before coming inside for some coco and a warm heater (or even better, a good old fashion fireplace). Winter's well known for bringing out the traditions and little children in all of us this time of year.
Prompt:
It would be simply too easy to tell you to have at writing a Winter Romance without throwing in a twist! You're inclined to write your winter romance and let your imagination's simply go with the flow, but to keep a fairly consistent flow, there's an additional section that you must take into consideration when writing. I just read through my past journals and it seems this is my 14th lit competition here on DA, and my 17th competition overall, which is jolly! I have obviously been gone a long time so I wanted to meet people from the lit community and get involved again so this seemed like a good idea, plus obviously its almost Christmas so why the hell not!
The Theme
This year I asked my 7 closest friends to write their favourite memory from 2012 on a piece of paper about each of the other 7 (including me). They will all go into envelopes and on New Years Eve each person will get an envelope with these letters from the other 7 people about them. This is a great way to remind you of how far you have come in the past year, remember the best days and nights of that year, to feel loved, and it provides a permanent reminder that you can go back to in twenty years and remember this year.
